What is psychological counselling ?

Psychological counseling is a therapeutic relationship between a trained/experienced professional counselor and an individual who is seeking to overcome social, emotional, or behavioral difficulties. Specific goals for well-being are targeted through an intensive psychosocial assessment and therapeutic counseling plan.

Educational, vocational and personal growth are three major areas of counselling under which you have different types of counselling including relationship, family, trauma, PTSD, eating disorder, stress, anxiety, substance abuse, child counselling and more.

What do psychological counsellors do ?

Psychological Counselors help people recognize their strengths and find resources to cope with everyday problems and adversity. Psychological Counselors focus on interactions between people and their environment, and on educational and career development. Psychological Counselors treat people by examining their experiences and exploring underlying issues. You’ll treat a wide range of mental health problems, such as: depression and anxiety, sexual disorders.

Who can psychological counsellors work with ?

Psychological Counsellors work with children, young people, adults, couples, families and groups. Counselling may be short term, long term, or over a lifetime, according to clients’ needs. Psychological Counsellors are fully present with their clients, using empathy and deep listening to establish positive working relationships.
